Hope Housing in Marina marks first year serving behavioral health clients

The county Behavioral Health Bureau celebrated the one-year anniversary of Hope Housing in Marina Thursday, with an open house event.

Hope Housing is the county’s first Behavioral Health Bridge Housing program. It was created from the underutilized Pueblo del Mar facility with the program designed to provide housing and support services for people experiencing homelessness with serious mental illness or substance use disorders.

In its first year, Hope Housing served 140 residents, including 98 adults and 42 children, according to Melanie Rhodes, director of the county’s Behavioral Health Bureau who gave a presentation during the county’s weekly briefing Wednesday.
