A new funding opportunity for BHBH Grantees will be made available through the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) via the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) State Opioid Response (SOR) grant for Youth Recovery Housing.
The County of Santa Barbara Department of Behavioral Wellness and Good Samaritan Shelter are proud to celebrate the ongoing success of the La Posada Interim Housing Village, a collaborative initiative providing supportive transitional housing and wraparound services to individuals experiencing homelessness.
The county Behavioral Health Bureau celebrated the one-year anniversary of Hope Housing in Marina Thursday, with an open house event. Hope Housing is the county’s first Behavioral Health Bridge Housing program. It was created from the underutilized Pueblo del Mar facility with the program designed to provide housing and support services for people experiencing homelessness with serious mental illness or substance use disorders.

Her first night in her own space in more than five years. Even without furniture, slated to arrive in just a few days. She couldn’t resist the euphoric feeling of being in her very own apartment after years of fighting the elements, sweeps, crime and prejudice on the streets.
Pathways, a local nonprofit that is committed to providing individualized treatment for drug and alcohol addiction, announced that it collaborated with Sutter-Yuba Behavioral Health and the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to expand services at Pathways’ treatment facility with the Bridge Housing Project.

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has released a new round of Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH) Program funding: Tribal Entities Request for Applications (RFA) — Round 2B.
Eligible applicants include (a) federally recognized Indian Tribes, tribal organizations, or Urban Indian organizations or (b) health care programs operated by Indian Tribes, tribal organizations, or Urban Indian organizations, as defined in Section 1603 of Title 25 of the United States Code and further defined in Section 5304.
The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is now accepting applications for the Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH) Program’s Round 3: County Behavioral Health Agencies — Strategic Enhancements funding. Applications will be accepted until April 10, 2024.
This third round of BHBH Program funding will provide $265,000,000 to county behavioral health agencies (BHAs) for use in the expanded implementation of bridge housing services for Californians experiencing homelessness who have serious behavioral health conditions (a serious mental illness and/or substance use disorder).
